Sullivan Stapleton

Hollywood actor Sullivan Stapleton had his career beginnings in the mid-1990s in his native Australia. Some of her early works include the films River Street and Amy. He also played the recurring character of Josh Hughes in the soap opera Neighbours. His career became more substantial in the 2000s. During this period, he landed his first regular role on the small screen, which was as Justin Davies in The Secret Life of Us.

He later appeared as Josh in Satisfaction. Also during this period, he had roles in the films Darkness Falls, The Condemned, and December Boys. In 2011, he gained mainstream recognition for starring in the series Strike Back. Subsequently, he starred in the Hollywood films Gangster Squad and 300: Rise of an Empire. He achieved further success thanks to his role as Kurt Weller in the series Blindspot.

Sullivan upped his fitness and diet routine to prepare for his starring role in the 2014 movie 300: Rise of an Empire. Playing an ancient warrior, he knew he needed to have the right physique to play his character more effectively. For starters, he needed to have a six-pack, which he achieved thanks to a combination of workout regimen and diet plan. Talking about the experience with Men’s Health, he said: “I never believed I’d have a six-pack, especially not at 35 years old. I always thought it was a genetic blessing. It’s not. You just have to be willing to do what it takes.”

In a period of about 12 weeks, the actor had lost 25 pounds of fat. So, what was his diet like? He revealed: “I keep my diet low in carbohydrates and high in protein. If I’m going to consume carbs, I prefer to drink them.” Nonetheless, he admitted that sticking to a strict diet was boring. He explained: “If we go out to dinner, you choose from the entire menu—and I have steak, no sauce. You order off the wine list; I order water. And I love wine.”
