Biography:

Maria Dizzia was born on December 29, 1974 in Cranford, New Jersey, USA. She attended Cornell University where she majored in theater. She later enrolled at the University of California, San Diego where she completed her MFA. In 2006, she made her TV debut in an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. That same year, she played Nancy Scialfa in 3 episodes of Smith.

In the 2010s, she played the recurring role of Dolores on Louie. She later became known for her portrayal of Polly Harper on Orange Is the New Black. Afterward, she played Tricia on Horace and Pete and Professor Beryl Fox on Red Oaks. As a film actress, she’s had performances in Captain Phillips, While We’re Young, Christine, Humor Me, and Vox Lux.
