Janet Jackson is an American singer-songwriter, dancer, and actress. She started her career in the 1970s as part of the cast of the show The Jacksons. She went on to star on other TV shows in the 1980s such as Good Times and Fame. It was also around this time that she became a recording artist. Her claim to fame was after the release of her third album Control in 1986. In the 1990s, she opted a much daring image evident in her fifth album Janet. That same time, she had her first starring role in Poetic Justice. She became more mainstream in the 2000s with her seventh album All for You. Since becoming a musical artist, Janet has sold over 100 million records globally.
