Carrie Preston was born on June 21, 1967 in Macon, Georgia, USA. She attended University of Evansville where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She also studied at the Juilliard School’s Drama Division.

She has had appearances in television shows such as Lost and Person of Interest.

She then has played the recurring character of Elsbeth Tascioni in the CBS television series The Good Wife. Her performance in The Good Wife has earned her the 2013 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.

As of 2008, she also stars as Arlene Fowler in HBO’s True Blood.
