Gisele Bündchen was born on July 20, 1980 in Horizontina, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. She was discovered by the Elite modeling agency while on a school excursion at a shopping mall in Sao Paulo.

She got her big break when she was chosen for Alexander McQueen’s spring 1998 “rain” ready-to-wear show. She secured her first British Vogue cover in 1998. She then became the most in-demand cover girl of her generation with 10 covers in just less than four years.

She also ventured into acting, appearing in such movies as Taxi and The Devil Wears Prada.
