Rhona Mitra was born on August 9, 1976 in Paddington, London, England, UK. She started her career as a model and became known as the Lara Croft model between 1997 and 1998.

After her stint as Lara Croft, she switched to acting and began having appearances on television. In 1999, she first had a recurring role as Holly Marie Beggins in the series Party of Five.
