Tabu is an Indian actress. Her first credited role came in 1985 with Hum Naujawan. Years later in 1991, she had her first lead role in the Telugu movie Coolie No. 1. After this, she starred in the 1994 Hindi film Vijaypath, which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She was then acclaimed for her performance in the movie Maachis, for which she won the National Film Award for Best Actress. Her performance in the Telugu feature Ninne Pelladata also won her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She rose to greater fame for starring in the films Biwi No.1 and Hum Saath-Saath Hain. In 2012, she appeared in Ang Lee’s film Life of Pi. She went on to star in the films Jai Ho, Haider, Golmaal Again, Drishyam, and Andhadhun.
