Ray McKinnon is an American actor. He’s since ventured into screenwriting, directing, and producing. He started his career in the late 1980s debuting on the television series In the Heat of the Night. His first movie role was in Driving Miss Daisy. In the ’90s, he appeared in the films Paris Trout, Sommersby, and Apollo 13, among others. He also played David Hinton in the film Bugsy. During this period, he also appeared on some TV films and miniseries. In the 2000s, he continued acting on film and television. He had roles in the films O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Accountant, The Missing, and That Evening Sun. He also played Rev. H.W. Smith on the TV series Deadwood. In 2011, he played Lincoln Potter on Sons of Anarchy. His latest role on television was as John on Fear the Walking Dead.
