Nicholas Hoult was born on December 7, 1989 in Wokingham, Berkshire, England, UK. He made his professional acting debut in the 1996 film Intimate Relations at the age of seven.

In 2002, he starred as Marcus Brewer in the film About a Boy, marking his breakthrough. For his role, he won the Phoenix Film Critics Society Award for Best Performance by a Youth in a Leading or Supporting Role

He came to worldwide fame after being cast as Hank McCoy/ Beast in the 2011 film X-Men: First Class. He has since appeared in other films, including Warm Bodies and Jack the Giant Slayer.
