Biography:

James McAvoy was born on April 21, 1979 in Glasgow, Scotland, UK. He made his acting debut in the 1995 film The Near Room. He then made television appearances in State of Play, Shameless and in the miniseries Frank Herbert’s Children of Dune.

In 2003, he starred in the film Bollywood Queen. He gained wider fame when he starred in the 2005 film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which became commercially successful.

His breakthrough came in 2007 when he starred in the film Atonement. His performance was highly-acclaimed, earning him a Golden Globe and a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor.
