Nadine Velazquez was born on November 20, 1978 in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.. Prior to acting on film and television, she first appeared on print and television advertisements. Then in 2003, she made her big screen debut in the movie Biker Boyz. Subsequently, she appeared in such films as Blast, Sueño, War, A Day in the Life, and All’s Faire in Love. She has also acted in some TV movies like The House of the Dead 2.

As a television star, she first rose to stardom for her role as Catalina Aruca in My Name Is Earl, playing the said part from 2005 to 2009. After her role on the show ended, she next played Sofia in The League. In the 2010s, she’s best known for her notable roles in Hart of Dixie and Major Crimes. She also played the role of Katerina Marquez in the 2012 film Flight starring Denzel Washington.
