Iben Hjejle is a Danish actress. She had her career beginnings in the 1990s, debuting in the 1996 Danish film Portland. Her performance in the film Mifune’s Last Song got her critical praise, which also got her a European Film Award nomination. In the 2000s, she gained wider recognition abroad for her performance in the film High Fidelity. She next starred in the British film The Emperor’s New Clothes. After more roles in Danish films, the actress joined the cast of the Hollywood war film Defiance playing the role of Bella. In 2013, the actress played the lead role in the television series Dicte.
