Hollywood star Hannah John-Kamen first acted in an episode of Misfits in 2011. That same year, she played Selma in an episode of Black Mirror. Later, she played Roxy in 2 episodes of Whitechapel. She next appeared as Rosa Maria Ramírez in 4 episodes of The Hour. The English star went on to make appearances on the TV shows Death in Paradise, Happy Valley, Cucumber, and Banana. Later, she starred in the made-for-television film The Ark.
Her first starring role was as Dutch / Aneela Kin Rit in the Canadian series Killjoys, which she starred in from 2015 to 2019. Her regular stint on the said show also gained her popularity. Simultaneously, she made her cinematic debut with a small role in the Hollywood film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. At the same time, she appeared in The Tunnel: Sabotage and Black Mirror.
Also, she played the role of Ornela in 2 episodes of Game of Thrones. 2018 was a great year for the actress. She played Sophie in Tomb Raider, F’Nale Zandor in Ready Player One, and Ava Starr / Ghost in Ant-Man and the Wasp. She has some upcoming works as well — Wilhelmina “Helm” Watson in the upcoming series Brave New World and Dr. Sophie Hart in the upcoming film SAS: Red Notice.
John-Kamen is not new to physical roles. Her starring role in the space adventure drama required her to do intense scenes that require strength and agility. She even performed her own stunts. But for her to be fully capable of delivering, she knew she had to take her workout routine to the next level. While she only satisfied herself with cardio before, being an actress who gets cast for action-oriented roles only means she needs to improve her strength. Now, the Hannah John-Kamen workout routine combines cardio with circuit training, weights, yoga, and Pilates.
