Hollywood star Kristin Bauer van Straten started acting professionally in 1994. During this time, she debuted in an episode of the show L.A. Law. She later made guest appearances on Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Silk Stalkings, and Cybill, among others. Her first starring role on the small screen was as Maggie Reynolds on the Fox sitcom The Crew. She next starred on the short-lived series Total Security. Simultaneously, she also had roles in the films Glory Daze and Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.

Her career flourished in the 2000s, landing more substantial roles on film and television. She first played recurring character Candy Cooper on the comedy-drama series That’s Life, followed by another recurring part as Belinda Slypich on Hidden Hills. She later came to prominence for her role as Pamela Swynford De Beaufort on HBO’s True Blood. While on the show, she also starred as Didi Stone on The Secret Life of the American Teenager. In addition, she portrayed Maleficent on the ABC series Once Upon a Time. She also recently had performances in the films Nocturnal Animals, Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay, and Happy Anniversary.

The 52-year-old actress takes care of her body and overall health by sticking to a clean diet plan. In an interview, she got candid about her food preferences and general eating habits. Talking about how she practices beauty from the inside out, she said: “I like to eat raw, real, fresh living foods – not processed or dead foods.” Her food choices are those which are high in such nutrients as “amino acids, antioxidants, and vitamins A, Bs, C, D, and E”. To further strengthen her body, she continues to look for ways to cleanse, to rid her body of anything toxic. “I’m always reading about ways to stay alkaline and cleanse,” the actress said.
