Biography:

Alana Haim was born on December 15, 1991 in Los Angeles, California, USA. After high school, she attended Los Angeles Valley College. She dropped out to pursue a career in music. She is a member of the pop rock band Haim where she serves as the pianist, guitarist, and vocalist. Their third album, Women in Music Pt. III., was well-received and earned a nomination for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Prior to her acting debut, she appeared in a few documentaries as herself, such as in Documentary Now! and Haim: Behind the Music.

In 2019, she acted in the variety special The Unauthorized Bash Brothers Experience. Alana Haim rose to prominence after she starred as Alana Kane in Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2021 film, Licorice Pizza. The movie served as her big screen debut in which she garnered worldwide accolade for her acting. For her performance, she received several Best Actress awards. Haim also earned Best Actress nominations at the Golden Globes and BAFTA. She also won the Best Breakthrough Performance at the 2021 National Board of Review.
