Zoe Kazan was born on September 9, 1983 in Los Angeles, California, USA. She attended Yale University where she was a member of the Manuscript Society and graduated in 2005.

She made her film debut in the 2003 movie Swordswallowers and Thin Men. She then played her first professional stage role in the 2006 off-Broadway revival of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.

Her film work includes The Savages, Fracture, August, Revolutionary Road, It’s Complicated and many more. In 2012, she gained critical acclaim for her portrayal of the title character in the film Ruby Sparks.
