Vivica A. Fox was born on July 30, 1964 in South Bend, Indiana, USA. She attended Golden West College where she graduated with an Associate Art degree in Social Sciences.

She started her career appearing in such soap operas as Generations, Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless. She then starred in TV shows, including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Beverly Hills, 90210.

In 1996, she made her breakthrough in the films Independence Day and Set It Off. She gained further fame when she landed the role of Vernita Green/Jeanie Bell AKA Copperhead in Kill Bill.
