Biography:

Swara Bhaskar was born on 9 April 1988 in Delhi, India. She attended Miranda House where she finished a degree in English literature. She then finished her master’s degree in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Pursuing a film career, she debuted in 2009’s Madholal Keep Walking. The following year, she had roles in the films Guzaarish and The Untitled Kartik Krishnan Project.

Her breakthrough role was in 2011’s Tanu Weds Manu. For her performance, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Filmfare Awards. She also received critical praise for her work in the romantic drama film Raanjhanaa, getting another Filmfare nomination. Later in 2017, she played the lead in the movie Anaarkali of Aarah, a role that got her a Filmfare nomination for Best Actress (Critics).
