Steven R. McQueen was born on July 13, 1988 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He made his acting debut in 2005 when he appeared in an episode of the CBS television series Threshold.

He has since made appearances in TV shows such as Without a Trace, CS: Miami, and Numb3rs. He then gained some notice after being cast as Kyle Hunter in the series Everwood.

In 2008, he made his film debut in the Disney Channel Original Movie Minutemen. He went on to win the main role in the 2010 film Piranha 3D. As of 2009, he plays Jeremy Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries.
