Prior to acting, Samantha Ruth Prabhu worked as a model while still in the university. She ultimately pursued an acting career, beginning with Gautham Menon’s Telugu film, Ye Maaya Chesave in 2010. She won a Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress for this, as well as earned a nomination for Best Actress. That same year, she starred in the Tamil films Baana Kaathadi and Moscowin Kavery.

Shortly after, she starred in another Telugu movie Dookudu, gaining her another Filmfare nomination. She finally won her first Filmfare Award with her performance in the 2012 Telugu movie Eega. She also won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil for her work in Neethaane En Ponvasantham that same year. She has since starred in dozens of Tamil and Telugu films, making her one of the most prolific actress in the South Indian film industry.

She continues to attract substantial attention for her performances, receiving several nominations in the Tamil and Telugu categories. Her work in the 2016 Telugu romance film A Aa also won her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. She also got nominations for her roles in Rangasthalam and Mahanati. The actress recently starred as the lead in the 2020 romantic drama film Jaanu. It was announced that she will also join the main cast of the upcoming Prime Video series The Family Man.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu stays fit and healthy by sticking to a good lifestyle. She eats well, focusing on nutritious foods and avoiding junk ones. She also follows a regular workout routine. She works with a trainer to make sure she doesn’t slack off. Based on her social media posts, the actress performs a weapon-based Indian martial art form called silambam. When she’s not busy, she wakes up early to start working out. When her work becomes too hectic, she makes sure she still exercises by doing simple activities like jogging.
