Biography:

Patrick Dempsey was born on January 13, 1966 in Lewiston, Maine, USA. His professional acting career began in the mid 1980s, making his film debut in 1986’s Heaven Help Us. The following year, he earned a Young Artist Award for Best Young Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy for his performance in Can’t Buy Me Love.

In the 1990s and the 2000s, he appeared in the movies Outbreak, Denial, and Scream 3 before gaining fame for his role in 2002’s Sweet Home Alabama. He was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy in the Guest Actor category for his work in Once and Again. In 2005, he rose to further stardom for playing Dr. Derek Shepherd in Grey’s Anatomy, which he played until 2015. In the late 2000s, he starred in Enchanted, Made of Honor, Valentine’s Day, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
