Mickey Rourke is an American actor. He’s also a retired boxer. His Hollywood career started in the late 1970s with his debut in the movie 1971. His first notable role was as Robert ‘Boogie’ Sheftell in the movie Diner. He next starred in the films The Pope of Greenwich Village and Year of the Dragon. He gained further success for starring in the film 91/2 weeks, followed by the feature Angel Heart.
He then received critical praise for his portrayal of Henry Chinaski in the movie Barfly. In the ’90s, he played Harley Davidson in the film Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. Subsequently, he had roles in The Rainmaker and Point Black. He also reprised his role as John Gray in Another 9½ Weeks. In the 2000s, he was best known for his performances in Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Man on Fire, Sin City, Domino, and Stormbreaker. He was also acclaimed for his performance in The Wrestler.
