Biography:

Michael Welch was born on July 25, 1987 in Los Angeles, California, U.S.. His acting career started in 1998. He made his debut in an episode of Frasier. His first movie appearance was in Star Trek: Insurrection. He also appeared in three episodes of Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place and Jesse. He got his break after landing the part of Luke Girardi on Joan of Arcadia.

In 2006, he appeared in the feature film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. He then became known for his role as Mike Newton in the movie Twilight, which he reprised in the sequels. He originally auditioned for the role of Edward Cullen, but got the supporting role of Mike instead. In the 2010s, he starred in the films Grace Unplugged, Hansel & Gretel Get Baked, Boy Meets Girl and more recently M.F.A..
