Hollywood star Melina Kanakaredes had her career beginnings in the 1990s. She made her television debut as Eleni Andros Cooper in the soap opera Guiding Light, which she played between 1991 and 1995. At the same time, she made her film debut in 1994’s Bleeding Hearts. She then had notable appearances in the television shows Due South, NYPD Blue, and Leaving L.A. She also starred as Angela Villanova in the short-lived series New York News.

During this period, the actress had performances in the films The Long Kiss Goodnight, Dangerous Beauty, and Rounders. In 1998, she starred in the television movie Saint Maybe. She became further known for her role as Dr. Sydney Hansen in the NBC series Providence. After her recurring roles as Dorothy Richter in Extant and Dana Hartman in Notorious, she now stars as Dr. Lane Hunter in Fox series The Resident.

When it comes to her diet, she keeps it simple — less salt, less sugar, and more proteins, more healthy fats, and more fruits and vegetables. At her age, processed and junk foods are no longer appealing. Thus, it’s easier to focus on nutritious meals as part of her day to day. Her diet plan typically consists of fish or chicken with lots of salads on the side. She also snacks on blueberries, bananas, almonds, and yogurts to keep her full for longer. Her only indulgence?
