Matt Damon was born on October 8, 1970 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S. At the age of 18, he made his acting debut in the romantic comedy Mystic Pizza. In 1997, his breakthrough came with Good Will Hunting, a screenplay he co-wrote with actor Ben Affleck.

They earned the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and Damon was also nominated for and Academy Award for Best Actor for the same film. He further gained fame for his roles in The Rainmaker and Saving Private Ryan.

His portrayal of Jason Bourne in The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum launched his reputation as an action star.
