Biography:

Mads Mikkelsen was born on November 22, 1965 in Østerbro, Copenhagen, Denmark. He was a professional dancer for about ten years until he embarked on a career in acting. He first shot to fame in Denmark for his role in the first two films of the Pusher film trilogy.

In 2004, he gained worldwide recognition for his role as Tristan in the feature King Arthur. He went on to achieve wider fame after being cast as Le Chiffre in the James Bond movie Casino Royale.

He was then awarded the Danish American Society’s Person of the Year in 2012. On television, he became known for his title character in the television series Hannibal.
