Laura Dern

It was in 1973 that Laura Dern got her start in the show business. She started with uncredited roles in the films White Lightning and Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. In the ’80s, her career flourished especially after she started working with filmmaker David Lynch, beginning in Blue Velvet. She collaborated with the director again in Wild at Heart and Industrial Symphony No. 1. She rose to mainstream fame after Steven Spielberg cast her as Dr. Ellie Sattler in Jurassic Park. At the same time she starred in Clint Eastwood’s A Perfect World.

In the 2000s, she had notable performances in the films I Am Sam, Focus, and We Don’t Live Here Anymore, among others. She later portrayed Katherine Harris in the made-for-television film Recount. From 2011 to 2013, she starred as Amy Jellicoe in the HBO series Enlightened. She then had supporting roles in the films The Fault in Our Stars, Wild, and Bravetown. In 2017, her performance as Renata Klein in the HBO series Big Little Lies won her awards, including a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress.

Laura Dern is one of the few actresses in Hollywood who’s ageing gracefully. What’s her secret? She tries her best to follow a clean diet and live an active lifestyle through exercises. But how does she have the time? Being a mother of two and being a prolific actress, Laura is constantly on the go. She knows that but it doesn’t stop her from staying active however possible. She said:

“The fitness part, it’s literally whatever I can get whenever I can get it. Before kids, it used to be an hour and a half of yoga in the morning. Now I try to fit in some exercise on a dog walk. As a working parent, you’re just constantly trying to fit it all in.”
