Biography:

Joe Dempsie was born on 22 June 1987 in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Starting his career in commercials, he’s most notable work is the voice of Clearasil television ads. In 2000, he made his professional acting debut on the screen with Peak Practice. He has since made appearances in the shows Doctors, Sweet Medicine, and Born and Bred. His first significant role on television was as Chris Miles in the teen series Skins.

He later guest-starred in the popular shows Doctor Who and Merlin. In 2010, he appeared in two episodes of This Is England ’86. He is now known for his role as Gendry in Game of Thrones. He started as a recurring character in seasons 1-2. He became part of the main cast in seasons 3 and 7. He will return for the show’s eighth season. He also recently starred in the BBC series One of Us.
