Holly Hunter is an American actress. She started her Hollywood career in the early 1980s, debuting in the film The Burning. Later in 1987, she gained recognition for starring in the film Raising Arizona. She was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Jane Craig in the film Broadcast News. In the ’90s, Hunter was acclaimed for her role as Ada McGrath in the drama film The Piano.
For this, she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. She also starred in the movie The Firm, where she had a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Academy Awards. She went on to star in such movies as Crash and A Life Less Ordinary. In the 2000s, she starred in O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Thirteen, and Little Black Book, among others. On TV, she is best known for starring Grace Hanadarko in the TNT series Saving Grace. More recently, she played Rhea Jarrell in Succession and currently stars as Arpi Meskimen in the sitcom Mr. Mayor.
