Born Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson, H.E.R. is an American singer-songwriter. She released her debut EP under her stage name in 2016 with H.E.R. Volume 1. She went on to work and release her follow-up EPs, EPs H.E.R. Volume 2, I Used to Know Her: The Prelude, and I Used to Know Her: Part 2. She also worked on her first compilation album titled H.E.R., which came out in 2017. For her work in this album, she received five Grammy nominations, winning two – Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Album. In 2019, she released her second compilation album, I Used to Know Her, which got her Grammy nominations again, including the coveted Album of the Year.
