Gemma Chan debuted in the 2006 film When Evil Calls. That same year, was a contestant in the Project Catwalt where she was a finalist. She later appeared in the 2009 film Exam and guest-starred in an episode of Doctor Who. In the 2010s, she had roles in the movies Pimp, Shanghai, and Submarine. She also guest-starred in The IT Crowd and Sherlock before landing the main role of Charlotte in the TV drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

She next played notable roles in the TV shows Fresh Meat and Bedlam. She next starred in the miniseries True Love. On the big screen, she gained notice for her supporting roles in the Hollywood movies Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Transformers: The Last Knight. She also gained recognition for starring as Anita/Mia in the sci-fi series Humans and for her recurring character as Miss Pemberton in Brotherhood.

In 2018, Chan played Astrid Young-Teo in Crazy Rich Asians and Elizabeth Hardwick in Mary Queen of Scots. She also starred in the mystery crime film Intrigo: Dear Agnes. The actress went on to play Minn-Erva in the superhero movie Captain Marvel. She will star in the upcoming Marvel superher film Eternals playing the role of Sersi.

Gemma Chan keeps her body fit and toned by following a healthy diet plan. Her amazing physique can be largely attributed to what she eats. As for her workout routine, she doesn’t really frequent the gym and engage in several fitness regimens.

She keeps it simple by being active in her day to day. Instead of doing intense and rigorous exercises, Chan prefers activities that are meditative like yoga. For her role in Captain Marvel, however, she underwent physical training to improve her energy and strength, though she made sure she didn’t overdo it.
