Biography:

Brian J. Smith was born on October 12, 1981 in Dallas, Texas, U.S.. He attended Collin County Community College where he studied theater. He went on to relocate to New York to attend Juilliard School. He started acting on stage productions. In 2005, he made his screen debut in the movie Hate Crime, for which he gained attention. His next role was in the film The War Boys.

On television, he became known for his role as Matthew Scott on Stargate Universe and Stargate Universe Kino.
In 2011, he appeared as Max Harding in 6 episodes of Gossip Girl. He also starred on the TV movie Red Faction: Origins. In 2015, he gained wider recognition for his role as Will Gorski on Sense8. He will star in the upcoming movie The Last of Us.
