Gemma Atkinson

English actress Gemma Atkinson had her career beginnings in the early 2000s. She made her debut playing Lisa Hunter in the British show Hollyoaks. She was part of the show’s main cast from 2001 to 2006. She has since reprised her role in other spin-offs. This includes Hollyoaks: After Hours, Hollyoaks: Let Loose, and Hollyoaks: In the City. She later joined the reality shows Soapstar Superstar and I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! as a contestant.

In 2009, she made her film debut in Boogie Woogie. She later became further known for her role as Tamzin Bayle in the British series Casualty. She also acted in the films 13Hrs, How to Stop Being a Loser, Airborne, Devil’s Pass, and The Confusion of Tongues. From 2015 to 2017, she played Carly Hope in the series Emmerdale. She also appeared on the reality show Strictly Come Dancing as a contestant.

The actress and reality star takes pride in her curvy figure. She knows that it’s not about being skinny. It’s about being fit and healthy. She works out and focuses on a healthy diet plan and that’s what counts. In an interview, the actress-model talked about her dietary habits. Every day, she sets a diet plan that consists of healthy foods – lean proteins, whole grains, fiber-rich foods, fruits, and veggies. She said:

“I cook from scratch as much as I can. It gives me more control over what I eat, tastes better and is free from nasties.” She also shared her decision to avoid meat: “I haven’t eaten red meat in five years, and I limit my dairy intake. I love animals and there’s cruelty in how these foods are produced. I’m working towards becoming pescetarian, then vegetarian.” Overall, she stated:

“I used to live off fast food, but had awful headaches and constant break-outs. It’s important to care for yourself from the inside out. Expensive creams won’t help if you’re dehydrated and not eating right. The weekend is my time to rest. I don’t train – I’ll go for long dog walks instead. If I fancy it, I’ll have pizza, pasta or a glass of wine. I aim for 80% what my body needs, and 20% what it wants.”
