Ellen Barkin

Actress Ellen Barkin started her career playing an extra on the screen during the ’70s and early ’80s. Her first credited role was in the TV film We’re Fighting Back. In 1982, she made her big screen debut in the film Diner. She has since had roles in the movies Tender Mercies, Daniel, Enormous Changes at the Last Minute, Eddie and the Cruisers, Harry & Son, Desert Bloom, and Act of Vengeance, among others. During the 1990s, she got a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Amanda Brooks in the film Switch.

She later portrayed Glory Marie Jackson on the made-for-television film Before Women Had Wings, which won her a Primetime Emmy Award. In 1999, she starred as Annette Atkins in Drop Dead Gorgeous. Continuing to work in Hollywood in the 2000s, she had performances in the films Mercy, Someone Like You, Ocean’s Thirteen, and many others. She became active on television in the 2010s, starring as Jane Forrest on the NBC sitcom The New Normal, after which she starred as Dani Kirschenbloom on the comedy-drama series Happyish. In 2016, she started playing the role of Janine “Smurf” Cody on the TNT series Animal Kingdom. Her latest film roles, on the other hand, were in Hands of Stone and Active Adults.

At age 64, you won’t be expecting Ellen Barkin to succumb to aging anytime soon. While she sure has aged, the actress has been able to do it greatly. She has tried some cosmetic procedures to look younger but she also credits her fitness and overall health to her clean diet plan. Apart from working out, the TV and film actress makes sure she eats the right kinds of food. Her diet mainly consists of complex carbs, fiber-rich foods, and lean proteins. Her food staples include fish, chicken, whole grains, fruits, and lots of vegetables.
