Anupam Kher is an Indian actor. He also served as the Chairman of Film and Television Institute of India from 2017 to 2018. Throughout his acting career, he has performed in more than 500 movies. He was first acclaimed for his role in 1984’s Saaransh, which won him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. He has also won the Filmfare Award for Best Comedian five times for: Ram Lakhan, Lamhe, Khel, Darr, and Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. In addition to his work in Hindi cinema, Kher has also worked in international film productions, such as in Bend It Like Beckham and Lust, Caution. In 2012, he had a role in the film Silver Linings Playbook. For starring in the British film The Boy With The Topknot, he won a BAFTA Award. Kher went on to play Sanyam Dandekar in Netflix’s Sense8 and Dr. Vijay Kapoor in the Hollywood show New Amsterdam.
