Alicia Witt

It was in 1984 that Alicia Witt began her Hollywood career. She debuted in David Lynch’s film Dune as Alia Atreides. She reunited with Lynch when she appeared in an episode of Twin Peaks in 1990. Her next role came in the 1991 feature Liebestraum, where she had a small part. She later had performances in the movies Bodies, Rest & Motion, Fun, Four Rooms, Mr. Holland’s Opus, Citizen Ruth, Urban Legend, and The Reef. From 1995-1998, she also gained prominence for starring as Zoey Woodbine on the sitcom Cybill. In the 2000s, she first had a two-time role as Hope Mercey on Ally McBeal, followed by her guest appearance as Amy Safir on The Sopranos.

At the same time, she starred in the movies Playing Mona Lisa, Cecil B. Demented, Vanilla Sky, American Girl, Two Weeks Notice, The Upside of Anger, and 88 Minutes. In 2007, she played Det. Nola Falacci on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She later played Rosalind Harker on The Mentalist, as well as starred as Cheryl on Friday Night Lights. She continued her film and TV career in the 2010s. She played Wendy Crowe on Justified, Autumn Chase on Nashville, and Nikki Kim on The Exorcist. She also had roles in the films Peep World, Joint Body, Cowgirls n’ Angels, Bending the Rules, I Do, A Madea Christmas, Six Love Stories, and The Bronx Bull.

The long-time actress practices an active lifestyle. This helps her not only maintain a slender figure, but also a strong body. Her workout routine consists of hitting the gym and engaging in outdoor activities as well. As much as possible, she wants her fitness regimen to be varied. “I try and mix up. I love running outside. I hike and run on the trails with my dogs in L.A. And the trails are better to run on than pavement. They don’t hurt my knees,” said the actress. “When I go to the gym, I go on the elliptical and weights. I also do yoga regularly.”
