Biography:

Sakshi Tanwar was born on January 12, 1973 in Alwar, Rajasthan, India. Her career on television began with her debut in the drama series Dastoor. She has since appeared in other serials such as Ehsaas, Bhanwar, X-Zone and Rajdhani.

In 2000, she gained wider recognition for her role in the television serial Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, for which she won the Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role in 2002.

She received critical acclaim again for her portrayal of Priya Kapoor/Pooja Sharma in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, earning her the Indian Telly Jury Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role in 2012.
