Biography:

Sigourney Weaver was born on October 8, 1949 in New York City, New York. She got involved in acting by living in Stanford’s co-ed Beta Chi Community for the Performing Arts. She also attended Yale University School of Drama where she received her Master of Fine Arts degree in 1974.

In 1979, she got the part of Ellen Ripley in Ridley Scott’s blockbuster film Alien. She reprised the role in three more sequels of the Alien movie franchise. She subsequently starred in The Year of Living Dangerously opposite Mel Gibson, which also earned her critical acclaim.
