Biography:

Michelle Branch was born on July 2, 1983 in Sedona, Arizona, United States. She started taking voice lessons at Northern Arizona University when she was eight. In 2001, she secured a recording deal with Maverick Records.

She then released her debut album The Spirit Room in August 2001. The album spawned the hit single “Everywhere”, which became a commercial success, winning the MTV Video Music Awards Viewer’s Choice Award in 2002.

Her second album, Hotel Paper, was released in 2003 where it peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 charts. The lead single “Are You Happy Now?” earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.
