Bollywood star Vidya Balan‘s first acting role was given to her during her teens. In the 2000s she acted full-time due her initial years were not successful. She was noticed in the 2005 Hindi film Parineeta. She was then acclaimed for her performance in Bhool Bhulaiyaa. This got her her first Filmfare nomination for Best Actress. For her lead role in Paa, she won the Filmfare for Best Actress. She has since received Best Actress nominations for her roles in Ishqiya and No One Killed Jessica. She became widely praised for her performance in The Dirty Picture in 2011. This won her both the National Film Award and Filmfare for Best Actress.

The 37-year-old actress is careful when it comes to her health. She stays fit and healthy by exercising and practicing proper nutrition. She has a curvaceous body that she is confident about. Though she makes sure that she also maintains a healthy weight. That is why it is more vital for her to be cautious of the foods she’s eating. Basically, she basically focuses on eating lean proteins, fruits, vegetables and complex carbs. She stays away from eating unhealthy ones. Examples are processed and fried foods. She also avoids eating junk foods and too much sweets.

Interestingly, the actress actually had to gain weight for her role in Dirty Picture. To prepare her body for this, she mostly ate cream biscuits, chocolates, bananas and almonds. She also ate pastas and burgers in between takes. Normally though she eats healthy focusing on foods rich in fiber. While she tries to practice a vegetarian lifestyle, she still adds eggs to her diet as it helps her control her weight since eggs are rich in proteins. She also eats rice and chapati, though she doesn’t eat them at the same time. She also likes eating fruits like oranges and apples.
