Bollywood actress Tabu had her beginnings in the 1980s, with a career that spans decades. She debuted as a teen actress in the 1985 film Hum Naujawan. Later in 1991, she had her first lead role in the Telugu film Coolie No. 1. She next won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for starring in 1994’s Vijaypath. Two years later, she catapulted to stardom for her role in the political thriller film Maachis, which won her the National Film Award for Best Actress.

She was also acclaimed for her performance in the Telugu film Ninne Pelladata, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Telugu, while enjoying mainstream stardom with the release of the box-office hit Saajan Chale Sasural. She went on to star in the blockbusters Biwi No.1 and Hum Saath-Saath Hain. In the 2000s, she starred in the films Astitva, Chandni Bar, Kandukondain Kandukondain, and Maqbool.

Soon, she ventured into international cinema with her role in the film The Namesake. In 2007, she starred in the feature film Cheeni Kum, for which she won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. In 2012, she had a brief appearance in Ang Lee’s Life of Pi. She next starred in the Hindi films Jai Ho and Haider. In 2018, her performance was praised in Andhadhun. Tabu’s recent roles were in the Telugu movie Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and the Hindi film Jawaani Jaaneman.

In an interview, Tabu reveals she doesn’t follow any diet or fitness tricks. Everything she does to take care of her body and overall wellness is pretty much basic. As a general rule, she just wants to keep her lifestyle simple. “I do not work out as much as I should. I follow some basics about avoiding oily and sugary foods and that is about it. There is nothing special about my regimen,” said the actress.
