Biography:

Shakira Barrera was born on 7 March 1990 in New Jersey, United States. She attended Rutgers University where she studied dance. In 2013, she made her acting debut in the short film called New Prey. The following year, she appeared in an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. She also became a regular cast member in the reality series Freak Out. At the same time, she played recurring character Vashti Nadira in the TV show Faking It.

In the movies, her first role was in 2015’s Superfast!. After guest roles in such shows as Lethal Weapon and Queen of the South. Her first notable role on the small screen was as Yolanda “Junkchain” Rivas in the Netflix series GLOW. After this, she got cast as Lulu in the comedy series It’s Bruno!. Barrera also played the role of Agent King in an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
