Scarlett Johansson was born in New York, USA on November 22, 1984. She showed passion for acting at a young age and starred in many plays. She began her acting career in the comedy film North.

She rose to further prominence with her roles in the critically-acclaimed The Horse Whisperer and Ghost World. She starred in Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation, for which she won a BAFTA award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
