Mary Kay Place
Mary Kay Place is an American actress. She had her career beginnings in the 1970s. She later gained fame for starring as Loretta Haggers in the satirical soap opera Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, which earned her a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress. In the movies, she debuted in 1976’s Bound for Glory. In the 1980s, she had roles in the films Private Benjamin and The Big Chill. She continued her career in the 1990s, gaining recognition for starring in the films Manny & Lo, Eye of God, The Rainmaker, Being John Malkovich, and Girl, Interrupted. On television, she starred as C.Z. Shakespeare in HBO’s 12 Miles of Bad Road. In the 2010s, she had recurring roles in such TV shows as Bored to Death, Getting On, Grace and Frankie, and Imposters. She recently played Theresa Blake in TV’s 9-1-1: Lone Star.
