Biography:

Maria Bello was born on April 18, 1967 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, USA. She attended Villanova University, majoring in Political Science. Taking an acting class during her senior year, she later starred in small off-Broadway plays.

Her breakthrough came when she was cast as Mrs. Smith in the spy series Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 1996. She then played the role of Dr. Anna Del Amico in ER the following year.

From 1998, she has appeared in movies such as Permanent Midnight, Payback, Coyote Ugly, The Cooler, A History of Violence, Thank You for Smoking and The Jane Austen Book Club.
