Hollywood actress Marcia Gay Harden debuted in 1987, appearing in an episode of CBS Summer Playhouse. She later made her big screen debut in the 1990 film Miller’s Crossing as Verna Bernbaum. This was also her breakthrough role. The rest of the ’90s saw her play notable roles in the films Used People, The First Wives Club, and Flubber. In 2000, she portrayed Lee Krasner in the movie Pollock. For this, she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She next starred as Andrea Haskell on the CBS series The Education of Max Bickford.

She went on to play FBI Special Agent Dana Lewis on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Claire Maddox on Damages. Also in the 2000s, she starred in the films Mystic River, Mona Lisa Smile, American Dreamz, American Gun, Into the Wild, The Mist, and Whip It. Other film roles in the 2010s are If I Were You, The Wine of Summer, and Magic in the Moonlight.

The 59-year-old actress stays in shape by taking care of her body and overall well-being. She does so by eating the right kinds of foods. This is one of the main reasons why she’s able to maintain her youthful fitness. When asked if she follows a special diet in an interview, she said: “I try to eat whole, fresh, natural foods, which include homemade blueberry ice cream.” She also shared her love of juicing, ginger, and foods that are hot like cayenne pepper. Because she eats natural foods most of the time, the actress looks glowing.
