Biography:

Kristin Scott Thomas was born on May 24, 1960 in Redruth, Cornwall, England. She attended Central School of Speech and Drama but left after she was told that she would never be a good enough actress.

She moved to Paris where she studied acting at ENSATT. On her graduation, she was cast as Mary Sharon in the film Under The Cherry Moon.

Her breakthrough came as Brenda Last in A Handful of Dust, for which she received an Evening Standard British Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer. She gained further fame for her work in the films Bitter Moon and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
