Kim Raver was born on March 15, 1969 in New York City, New York, USA. She began her career as a child actress in 1975 appearing in Sesame Street when she was six.

In 1995, she made her first notable role in her Broadway debut in the Philip Barry play Holiday. She followed this with her appearance in the feature film City Hall with Al Pacino.

She is best known for her roles on television, including Kim Zambrano in Third Watch, Audrey Raines in 24 and Teddy Altman in Grey’s Anatomy.
