Kara Tointon has been acting since 1999. She first appeared in the British series Dream Team. She continued her career in the 2000s, playing Pauline Young in the comedy-drama show Teachers. She later appeared in the TV movie Never Play with the Dead, as well as starred as Gabby in the children’s series Harry and Cosh. In 2003, she made her big screen debut in the feature film Boudica. Soon, she pursued a career in Hollywood as well.

She did so beginning with a guest appearance in the TV series Keen Eddie while she also appeared in Mile High. Her next role was in the sports film The Football Factory. She ultimately achieved success on television courtesy of her role as Dawn Swann in the British soap opera EastEnders. She played the said role from 2005 to 2009.

Following this, she guest-starred in The Bill and competed in Strictly Come Dancing, for which she was declared the winner. In the 2010s, she had performances in the films The Sweeney and Last Passenger. Next, she played Erica Stoke in TV’s Lewis and Rosalie in Mr Selfridge. In 2016, she starred in the movie Let’s Be Evil. Her latest works were on TV, appearing in The Halcyon and Henry IX.

The actress maintains her healthy body by being active in her workout routine. She also makes sure that proper nutrition is part of her lifestyle. Interestingly, despite her slender figure, the English beauty doesn’t believe in strict dieting. “No, because I don’t believe in quick fixes. I love smoothies in the morning; they’re a great way to get your five a day and I try to pack lots of vegetables into meals. But I do reward myself with treats,” said Tointon when asked whether she diets or not. She also drinks plenty of water and usually avoids processed foods.
