Haylie Duff was born on February 19, 1985 in Houston, Texas, U.S.. She is the older sister of actress and singer Hilary Duff. She studied ballet at an early age, landing a part in the theater production of The Nutcracker Suite. She made her screen debut in the miniseries True Women in 1997. She has also had a recurring role in her sister’s show Lizzie McGuire as Cousin Amy.

In 2005, she rose to mainstream notice after being selected for the role of Sandy Jameson in the drama series 7th Heaven. She played the role until 2007. As of 2014, she is a presenter in Real Girl’s Kitchen. On film, she has appeared in Napoleon Dynamite, Material Girls, My Sexiest Year, Slightly Single in L.A., and many others.
